An Ounce of Prevention: Part 1
We’ve all heard the expression “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Unfortunately, many of us are not getting the preventive care we need to help us live longer and healthier lives. At Hometown Hospital, we want to change that. In this issue of My Hometown Health, we are providing important information about preventive screenings and tests, such as mammogram exams and Pap tests, for women. In the next edition, which will feature country music star Larry Gatlin, we will do the same for men. Preventive screenings and tests are so important because they can detect a disease in its early stages, when treatment is much more effective.
